Official Announcement

The Emirates Students Club Soccer Tournament came to an exciting end on Sunday the 10th of May, 2009. The event was held on two consecutive days at the Victoria park located in Brisbane, Queensland. 16 teams participated and there was a big following of the tournament. With approximately 160 players and hundreds of supporters the event achieved more than the expectations it had set. Various communities and clubs in Queensland turned up for the event and enjoyed the social atmosphere. Great Soccer, Food and off-field entertainment was what kept the tournament followers glued to the action and fun of the two days.

With 8 teams making it to the knockout, fierce battles and challenges took place in the quarterfinals and on to the semif-finals and the final of the tournament.

Tournament came to an amazing end with the Aamer Al Shamsi's golden touch that sent the United Arab Emirates A team taking the win from their Saudi Arabian Gold Coast B team to take the trophy and Winners cash prize.

All in All, The tournament will certainly live on in the memories of all the spectators,players,official and the sponsors who made a graceful contribution for making this dream a reality!
